The company was acquired by Visa in 2010 for $2 billion and is working toward being a global contender in the payment processing space.

CyberSource offers an extensive list of accepted payment cards as well as many tools that merchants can utilize to grow and scale their businesses.

Cybersource Overview

CyberSource was founded in 1994 and pioneered online payment and fraud management services for both medium and larger merchants. By 2007, CyberSource had acquired Authorize.net, which resulted in being able to expand to offering services to the largest brands in the world.

In 2010, Visa acquired CyberSource. This gave the company access to a global network of issues and acquirers. It also allowed access to Visa’s security infrastructure.

Payworks joined CyberSource in 2019, which helped to develop a modern customer present payment solution.

CyberSource has offices throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. More than 450,000 merchants around the world utilize the company’s services.
